KOVACS Bertalan, born in Baia Mare in 1951, graduated from the “Ion Andreescu” Institute of Fine Arts and Decorative Arts, Cluj-Napoca, specializing in Painting, in 1975. He has taught as a permanent professor at the Art High School, the Pedagogical High School, the Gymnasium School in Drobeta Turnu Severin, and at the Art High School in Baia Mare. From 1993, he has been a full member of the Union of Visual Artists, Baia Mare branch. He has organized personal exhibitions and participated in numerous group and collective exhibitions both in Romania and abroad, as well as national and international symposia. In 2019, he received the Artist of the Year distinction for his entire creative activity, awarded by the Municipality of Baia Mare.
