Laura Teodora GHINEA, born in 1977 in Baia Mare, is a researcher, academic, visual artist, and cultural manager. Currently, she is an associate professor at the University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca, Photo-Video Department. A full member of the UAPR Baia Mare branch, specializing in graphics, since 2004, she has been its president since 2011. She coordinated the rehabilitation project of the Artist Colony with Regio funding between 2011-2017, the rehabilitation of the UAPR Baia Mare Art Gallery in 2012, and the creation of new artistic spaces, such as Studio Arena 11 in 2013. In 2022, she founded the Contemporary Art Center, Artist Colony, where she has been the director since 2023. She is also a founding member of the ARTE+ Foundation, which she has directed since 2023. In 2013, she was awarded the Artist of the Year distinction by the Municipality of Baia Mare.
Laura Teodora GHINEA transfers us beyond color through an immeasurable chromatic dominance; perhaps only in this way can we see beyond color. Only in this way does the line transform into luminous pictoriality, and the form becomes more delicate than we knew it could be. We perceive rhythm, not as a description, but as the potentiality of a transfer, of moving from a fluid environment toward immaterial transparencies. It outlines with discretion and elegance an art of mysteries. The germinative origins sensitize the interlocutors and cultivate in us a feeling of constructive latency, a kind of patience that arises from a respect for the true meaning of things. (Vasile DUDA)
